Listening, coaching and great 1:1s

We understand the importance of excellent communication.

We also know that we can all improve

We know that managers and leaders who can fully support their teams get better outcomes

This workshop lasts for half a day. We can tailor it to the needs of your people with emphasis on one or more of listening, coahcing skills or great 1:1s

Listening is a funny old thing. We all do it all the time. Our workshop on active listening is a participant driven thing. We try to pitch everything we do to the experience level of the people we are working with. Yes we can explain the basics. But the more time we can get our participants practicing their listening skills, giving each other feedback and reflecting on their own potential for growth the better.

We are coaches yes, but there was a time when we were informally coaching our teams in the workplace and we remember how beneficial it was to take some time out from the day today to learn or brush up on coaching skills.

A great 1:1 is co-created with trust, openness and understanding at it’s heart. We’ve all had those line managers we dread going for a conversation with, and we’ve also had the incredible supportive, stretching 1:1s that help us move towards our potential. Let us take your team from good to great or new manager to confident manager with plenty of time to practice the taught skills with their peers.

“When our directors completed this workshop, it was the catalyst to embedding effective 1:1s throughout our organisation where previously we had a patchy and individual approach” Simon HR Director

A thread throughout the whole day is always simple, quick self-care techniques that can be taken away and practised by everyone.

Plus, being outside, just makes us feel better.

We don’t need to tell you about the countless benefits of simply getting your team outside and doing it together. You’ve heard them…ok, just a few…

  • Stress levels reduce
  • Creativity grows
  • We can solve problems easier
  • Our self-esteem and confidence get a boost

But did you know studies have also found both memory and attention span improve dramatically when you chose to spend time outside.

Get outside as team and you get these benefits tenfold. Connection, conversation, collaboration and a load of memories to take back home.

Logistics on a typical day – although we regularly tweak these to suit our clients:

We hold a Zoom call and provide a short survey to all delegates 3-6 weeks in advance

On the day

Expect a schedule of around 9:30am – 4:30pm to allow for travel either end.

We’ll make sure coffee and pastries are warm and ready when you arrive. A great lunch is provided and a fresh brew and cake is waiting when we get back after our walk.

Post Event

We welcome everyone to join a video call after the event to share how they are progressing towards the goals they have set for themselves. This really does give a boost to accountability and ongoing support.

We also provide an online survey 3 months after the workshop to capture the impact and feedback if you’d like.

Let’s create something together

We work across the UK. Walking in the hills and mountains are a core part of how we help teams connect with purpose, themselves and each other. We don’t have a set price list, although we do offer guide prices, because every team has unique needs. If you want to explore a day together, why not book a short call with us to chat about what you need. We’ll create a bespoke proposal for you.

Emma and John.
